Horizon 2020 is the main European research framework programme, covering all scientific and technological topics (see H2020).

In the railway sector, most of research projects now refer to the Shift2Rail Joint Undertaking. CNC is currently involved in a H2020 project, IT2RAIL, one of the Shift2Rail lighthouse projects, which deals with ICT technologies to support passengers during all phases of their journey, from planning to booking tickets, from tracking their trip to managing any possible disturbances.

CNC contributes to the definition of an Interoperability Framework, which will allow several distributed applications to exchange data, based on a common semantic language.

Additionally, CNC provides the Cooperation Tool service to the project partners, as well as the building and maintaining of the project public Web site.
